Our Grantees
Furthering a wide range of worthwhile missions
Canine Partners for Life (CPL) was founded in 1989. The organization flourished and in 1996, CPL purchased and moved to a 45-acre property in Cochranville, PA. Today, the property includes The Marian S. Ware Program Services Center, a state of the art kennel, and a training center.
The mission of Canine Partners for Life is to increase the independence and quality of life of individuals with physical, developmental, and cognitive disabilities or who are in other situations of need. We achieve our mission by providing and sustaining professionally trained service and companion dogs.
CPL is a recognized and highly respected leader in the assistance dog industry. It was one of the first service dog organizations in the world to be accredited by Assistance Dogs International (ADI) and continually meets the highest standards in the industry. CPL has placed more than 750 service and companion dogs nationwide and provides support to over 200 active teams and 50–70 service dogs in training.

Vickie’s Angel Foundation (previously Vickie’s Angel Walk) was established in memory of Vickie Minnich by her husband Mickey and their two sons Michael and Jason; as well as many close family and friends in July of 2003. Vickie fought a courageous battle with cancer for five months, but became an Angel on May 21, 2003.
The organization’s mission is to help families fighting cancer who have difficulties paying their bills during the challenging times of undergoing cancer treatments. Their goal is to take away the financial worry from the family, providing a temporary bridge that allows them to focus entirely on beating their disease.
The word Angel was chosen because each night, in April and May, Vickie and Mickey would play an Angel Symphony which was spiritually soothing. Each night, they asked God to send one of his angels to heal Vickie – thus Vickie’s Angel Walk was created. Due to the growth of the Walk, and the addition of many other events over the past 14 years, the organization is now known as Vickie’s Angel Foundation. The Foundation’s signature event, Vickie’s Angel Walk, has helped raise over $2,600,000 for more than 1,500 families in need.
